Metro Madness

Metro Madness

A Poem by Michael Knight
"

One of my personal favorites.

"
The truth is out there on that horizon
Out beyond the limits, the lights, the neon.
There, awaits the cure to the metro madness
No shelter, no hiding, no pursuit
Its a steel jungle with electricity and smog
living everyday here, a miracle of living and a damnation of living
On my own alone, alone in a crowded place
No use in going up, when you feel always down, no matter how high you can see

I started in a cradle, don't want to end up in one here.
There is no air to breathe
Nothing Grows, worse than a facade
Shiny Neon outside, Dirty and Rotten inside
The truth is out there on that horizon
Out beyond the limits, the lights, the neon.
There, awaits the cure to the metro madness
And I can't stay another night
