The Artifact

The Artifact

A Poem by Michael Knight

In the cave running as fast as I can
that sour smell tastes just like sand

Jumping, running left and right
Is this enough to prove my might?

Yes, I thought about turning around
but i couldn't live without it being found

And there it is, right before my eyes
No traps just silence and tranquility, all lies

What is it that i see? Treasure? Biblical Artifacts?
I don't know but it looks like my trail ends at these tracks

No other treasure in sight,
just enough to see it in the sunlight

It can be read, for there are writings
It looks like a weapon, used for fighting

It seems like a vessel to carry something
Myth or Legend no more, it is the real thing
