I Wish Myself A DoveA Poem by NathanSonnet
Often I gaze into the crimson hue
Of sunset sky, and wish myself a dove, To soar across the plains of ocean blue, And claim the branch, the sacred branch of love. So many miles to other still may speak, And hear the voice, and see the face of thee; But you below and I a mountain peak, Alas! with you in form I cannot be. Yet time will tell for all we seek to change; Determination grows: thy love is strong, Unshakable, the world I would exchange If I with you, and you with me belong. For even though great distance must we fly, Our love doth make our wings: take to the sky! © 2012 NathanAuthor's Note
