Oblivion's PromiseA Poem by ClariblahA surreal walk through the subconscious?day fades unto night, out of sight she lingers still, in slumber tight yet, spirit takes leave of earthly form gently seeks, to escape alone into world where heart; wanders from mind across realm where sense of five, combine seamless; merged into one eye where all is one, beneath one sky * * * ************************************** * * * she follows soul; through wind, through cold though body lay, she walks abold fearing naught, nor least distraught surreal relief, day's tears forgot beckons soul's form, sweet lady trust! for soul knows what is; what be done, must! enter realm of dreams; promised bliss trust spirit still!- in search of peace * - * - * - * - * streams flow abound; wildflowers nod return to day's terror? daresay, shall not! for spirit found soul; destiny twice told naught hinders; should fate reign to withhold? solitude's sweet nectar, eases thirst for selfhood's sake, heart abandons hearse amidst sleepsmiles; she, horizon's bride succumbs to passion- submerged with tide * - * - * - * - * above her, skies part; blessings befall onslaught, slow drops; crumble stone walls peace is hers, true, thus 'moons of blue' eternal hopes linger, much amused for what becomes of soul, minion of demise? what becomes of spirit, which fails to rise? day's solitude, yields to dreamy embrace spirit's soul, soul's spirit- by night, interlace * - * - * - * - * though peace departs, once body awakens faith does stand; for one thought forsaken for dreams do beckon, if only by night solemn promise, dusk beholds; dark brings light silence overcomes; eyes closed, unseeing listen! heartbeats slowing; soul is fleeing mind, heart merge; thoughts slip faraway hush now! dreamtime- her soul slips away * * * ************************************** * * * day fades unto night, out of sight she lingers still, in slumber tight yet, spirit takes leave of earthly form gently seeks, to escape alone into world where heart; wanders from mind across realm where sense of five, combine seamless; merged into one eye where all is one, beneath one sky
