Lament for the Spine-less

Lament for the Spine-less

A Poem by Clare Owens

Love;

I can think of no other way of describing this passion

My irrepressable obsession,

My flame of hope

Which reason refuses to blow out.

My selfish love,

Regarding nothing else down my path,

Posessing my mind,

Unhinging my thoughts,

An unmeasured and crazed devotion.

My secret love

For how could I share this and not be insane?

I'll shut out my heart

Only in darkness we'll talk

The pathetic end for cowards loving in vain.

Obsessed with the thoughts of someone... a passion even (as stated) the second stanza tells me how this is so!... and then to question your sanity! A write of the yearning heart! Well done.
