Freshman year

Freshman year

A Poem by LuvWriting

New friends, new teachers, and a new school,

When the school year started it felt like torture.

There was no one for me to talk to,

I was alone like a wolf without a pack.

Aimlessly wandering the wilderness of high school,

Searching for my new family.

One by one they came to me,

Day by day we built our pack, our family.

A pack full of girls,

Who did not know each other.

We learned each other’s ways,

What we want from life.

As we struggled through the harsh landscape of learning,

We grow in mind and in spirit.

Together we stayed strong as sisters,

We helped and protected one another.

We look forward to the years ahead,

And hope together we will stand.

And when it is time to part ways with this pack,

I shall see the ivory building waving goodbye and wishing me well.

I'm going into high school after summer vacation is over as a Freshman; I am both shivering with fright and excitedness.
What you have written about--a pack of girls looking out for each other--is something I hope to achieve next year in the large high school with over 2,000 people in it. Unbroken trust is both rare and important to me, something I really wish for in a friend(s).
You gave me hope for that, thank you!
