Never Will Be

Never Will Be

A Poem by Claire Lorraine

Once you shined so bright

I was blinded by your light

But now darkness has fallen

My soul is stripped bare

The sepulcher of your memory

Haunts me still

Away!

Away from me spirit of the past!

I beg to be free from your torment!

That which I loved has broken me

I must escape

Run o Soul!

Flee from this prison shredded heart!

Hide buried amid the ruins

Of what could have been

But never will be.

I can definitely relate to this poem. - There are those memories that are haunting - and though we try to forget, we try to be free - they manage to find us when we least expect it.

Heartfelt and well written

Thank you Kai.
I like to mix modern with a bit of the classical :)
