My guardian

My guardian

A Poem by Elwina

You’ve been my guardian and my roof

Been my cocoon when I couldn’t make one myself

Heard my smothered cries when I was alone

Your walls imprinted from my every pain

You’ve heard my anger and my screams

When nobody else could take them

You’ve been my shelter

Shared my dreams

You’ve been more,

Much more than walls

I will leave your stones and wood

For another place

Where I will rest my bones and wounds

But you will always remain

In some corner of my heart

What a sad and beautiful goodbye to one's dwelling. I guess one grows connected with the place of reside; the sense of security, the memories shared. I think it's all some universal energy inter-action.

Such sadness throughout, but held by walls that protected you in some way, although it could be said you were also trapped by the pain in the walls. But we take all those memories and remember the welcoming cocoon we lived in.
