Old As DirtA Poem by CitrtgoW8PWhy don’t you bleed When we cut you open? Why does the air become thin Every time you breath in? You are older than you can remember And for what purpose you will never know Why you can never die. Power for power’s sake, Hunger for hunger’s sake. We are the flies in your jar, The bugs in your light, And the spiders in your drain. Billions of us, All alone, Senseless masses Endlessly crashing Into each other’s dreams in passing. When an eye meets an eye They both go blind, And everyone leaves The murder scene With a straight face and nothing much to say. © 2013 CitrtgoW8P |
