Eyes Wide

Lips stitched

And Eyes wide

I search for you in Silence

With feeble hope

And stupid desire

Stumbling over my vision

Grabbing and letting slip

Anything I can hold onto.

Prostrate,

Tasting the ground,

All I see is earth

Slipping out from under me;

Tiny ethereal bodies

Hover listlessly over mine,

Earthbound and chained.
