He’s Cute?!A Poem by Cindy LamAbout a friend who is like a brother. This is about when a girl admired him.
“Your friend is cute,” dear Kathleen said.
This compliment went to young Will’s head. “She said I’m cute!” His head swelled up. “Ha! You’re nothing but a pup!” Our brother cute? That’s so absurd, That’s the funniest thing we’ve heard. He’s such a dorky looking kid, Always thought him a square, we did. We’ve known him for so very long, Couldn’t possibly be so wrong. He’s really not that much to look at, He’s nothing but a little brat. Though he’s a young man of twenty years, He’s just a boy, it would appear. How anyone could find him charming, Well, to us that’s quite alarming. But he’s so ugly, he’s such a geek, We’d love to be rid of him in a week. It’s too comical, so preposterous that anyone could find Will gorgeous. For all we know he might be handsome, Perhaps some girl might hold him ransom. Perhaps we’ve known him for too long, He’s too familiar, we could be wrong. Well, maybe he is not too frightful, Perchance we’re just a little spiteful. © 2013 Cindy Lam |
