Constant

Constant

A Poem by Laylani Mullane
"

Umm...just kinda came to me when I was thinking about a few things in my life

"

It’s been a part of my life

Since I was young,

Now the embodiment of it is gone,

But the mark still remains.

Not on flesh or bone,

Not really anyway.

But on my heart and memories.

It’s constant,

Once a loud screaming scrape in my mind,

Now a soft whisper,

Like a breeze rustling

through the leaves of my conscious,

Stirring only enough to let it known

It is there.

i can certainly relate to this piece!!! very haunting write you created, reflecting one's reality of a constant memory that still whispers within the background, something we may never be able to shake free of, if we even want to...

well done

Faerie Blessings!

About
For me poetry is about emotion, and most of the time when I write I try not to edit too much, if at all, because I believe that it'll only dimish the emotion. For the last few years writing has helpe.. more..
