But I didn't chose this

But I didn't chose this

A Poem by Laylani Mullane
"

Written after having a bad experience when I went to the mall today

"

You spit on me
Call me a disease
But what give you the right
to do as you please?

What is it?
Do you want me to cry?
All right, have at it.
I know you just want me to die.

And I do
With each hate filled word
a little more each time.

You persecute me for what I am,
But when did loving someone become a crime?

Look at my blood,
Running free from the cuts,
It's as red as yours,
So why am I treated like the mangy mutt?

I didn't choose this,
I don't want the hate,
Or the kicks or the jeers.
So, please.  Give your views an update.

For now though, just answer me this,
You spit on me,
Call me a disease.
But what gives you the right,
To do as you please?

Touching write. I think people should be free to express the love they feel in any way they please. Sometimes I get the impression the stigma comes because those very people are jealous. Lol, you should never feel ashamed for loving someone.

About
For me poetry is about emotion, and most of the time when I write I try not to edit too much, if at all, because I believe that it'll only dimish the emotion. For the last few years writing has helpe.. more..
