Chapter OneA Chapter by CiNiI am Queen Evangeline Brittania
Clymene IL Dragomir. But you can call me Eva. If you are one of those people
that see black and white and never think of what could be out here, then you
should probably look for a book somewhere else. My story is not for the faint
hearted. So follow me into my world, far from what you see now. That is, if you
think you’re up to it……
************************** So here's where I begin. Sitting
up in my bed stalling getting ready for school as long as possible on what
appears to be a typical Thursday. I swung my legs out of bed and trudged to the
bathroom. For just waking up I was still quite good looking. My black curly
hair was not frizzy or messy, my cinnamon eyes bright and clear. "Eva,
your breakfast is ready." Oh yeah that's my aunt. Cora. She's taken care
of me for as long as I can remember. Don't ask why, I don't know and Cora doesn’t
talk about it. See there's something strange about Cora. I love Cora to death,
she's the only family I have, but sometimes she acts more like a servant than a
parental figure. Thirty minutes later, I’m just about ready to go to school
when I run to my desk by the window, to grab an essay. Just as I'm turning
around something moves down on the ground outside by my window. I didn’t get a
good look at it, but I swear it was a person. That's when that first memory
swam back to the surface of my mind. I am eight years old. I am walking
down the street back to my house. I listen to the sound my new black tap shoes
make on the sidewalk. I am one street away from my home. Just as I get going
faster a black SUV swings onto the road behind me, heading straight for me. I
turn around but I am too young to be properly afraid. Instead I notice how
shiny the paint job on the car is. The car finally pulls up beside me and a
pale feminine arm swings out and makes a grab for me. I dodge it and fall to
the sidewalk smashing my head against the metal pole of a chain link fence. The
car turns around and comes back for me again. This time I will not escape. But
I hear their tires screech in another direction and pull away. Just as I hear a
person running up behind me, screaming to their husband to call an ambulance.
Frantic hands come at me and check to see if I'm alright just as I give in to
unconsciousness. © 2011 CiNiAuthor's Note
