"It's not you, it's me"

"It's not you, it's me"

A Poem by Chyna

Don't let me get too close.
Don’t look me in the eyes.
Don’t let me feel your hand in mine.
Don’t kiss me like you mean it.

Mention my name and I’ll reject myself for you.
Tell me I’m beautiful and I’ll tell you you’re drunk.
Try to make me believe you actually care and I will care less.

Hug me until your heart's content.
I’ll use your arms for nothing more than a blanket.
Kiss me hard until we both lose breath.
I will consider myself a thief for stealing your breath.

I will never be yours
For I am not even able to call myself my own.
‘I’ will never become a ‘We’.
For I am much better off alone.

"try to make ME believe" just a little typo!
Overall, very nicely written... full of emotion, though that is sort of ironic.Allowing oneself to be close with another is never easy, sometimes it is easier to be alone - you can't hurt people, and they can't hurt you - though at the same time, being alone can hurt in itself...
I really enjoyed this poem, makes the reader think
