As The Children PlayA Poem by peter DugganA morning spent by the river
As the children play
As the children play The morning comes awake The sun comes peering through the mist To herald in day break I hear the call of a sleepy duck As he waddles up to me Two ravens fly above my head Their lonesome calls enthralling me.
There’s a feeling deep within my soul As I watch the river flowing The mood in me spells harmony And it gets my heart to glowing In the silence, echo’s of the truth They fill the morning air As the breath of mystic morning comes To leave my soul quite bare.
The kookaburras crazy laugh Does break on through the morn As more waddling ducks arrive To laze upon the lawn And all around day comes alive With the sounds of, tiny birds As I watch little fairy wrens Such joy in me is stirred. © 2019 peter Duggan |
