Darkness Of The Mind

Darkness Of The Mind

A Poem by peter Duggan

Ridding one of foolish Suprstition

Darkness of the mind

All of the darkness that you see
It seems to me it really be
Only silly thoughts, that’s all
Times they’ll drive you up the wall
Drop all thoughts and where are they
These tormenters all shaded grey
Thoughts they really cannot hurt you
They are phantoms, just not true

Devils, Hell, and all those things
That you, such misery they bring
They are there, cause you’ve been taught
Those truths that really come to naught
By those who really do not know
So now the fear in you does grow
It’s just your inner fear of life
That cultivates a lot of strife

Demons, devils, just laugh at them
Clear yourself from all mayhem
Hell is told of by those with power
Who do not want that you should flower
Over your minds they’d like control
To frighten people is their role
They try to keep your minds unclear
And fill you up with foolish fear

Hi John these idiots start the brainwashing when kids are very young and ruin the rest of their lives. I am so glad that I grew up and tossed away all that crap. Thank you so much for your kind comments, my friend....peter

Good rhyming and good philosophy here. Hellfire and damnation have been used for centuries as control and recruiting devices. It is ironic that religions that speak so fervently of love also speak with at least equal fervor of fear.
