How We Could Change The WorldA Poem by peter DugganMaking the world a better placeHow we could change the world
When will people learn this thing That everything is one We must learn to love, not hate We must throw away all guns And learn to love all things that live Put forgiveness in our hearts Stop wanting always to fight each other And let perfection start
We have this planet cut in pieces With countries everywhere As politicians wave their flags And only wars they share As they make us hate each other And never teach us bliss They just look for greed and power This is the way it is
We need leaders with wisdom To make our world feel grand Instead of all this competition Wherever there is land We need to push hatred away And hold our hands in peace As all the horror in this world We will give all this release
We do not need those ancient books We need to look within Then we will see just who we are Then love it will begin Then hearts would sing a symphony And glory would be here Then every day we’ll wake from sleep And life will be so dear
