Living My Life Without Rules

Living My Life Without Rules

A Poem by peter Duggan
"

If we live within ourselves, what need will there be of Authority

"

Living my life without rules

The stuff taught me when I was young

I never listened to

Authorities tried to brainwash me

But were they ever true???

I did find out all by myself

How to live in sweet delight

As I practiced generosity

And it seemed that I was bright

Kindness was another thing

That I found out, did I

Racism I did really hate

I watched it, wondered why

Giving my self to everyone

I did make this my way

As I would try to come on nice

And always I'd be gay

I live my life without religion

Commandments I don't follow

For truth is here within my soul

Where joy within does glow

Sweetness is just a thing in me

Just where it's meant to be

I don't need me authority

For this truth in me I see

Hi Coyote, These days I only see beauty in life. Such joy is in each one of us yet few people find it. Just to see, birds, trees and flowers is enough to make me high. Thank you for your kind words as always, my friend...Peter

I agree my friend.

I saw wonder in nature and I have knew great people. I believe we must seek good places and kind places. Rules, made to make us tamed. Thank you Peter for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
