AS The Spring WaitedA Poem by peter DugganOn waiting for the spring
As the spring waited
The spring was not too far away With just four weeks to go I walked along those wetland trails And all around did grow Rich green grass all velvet soft Interspersed with tiny flowers That shone out in the morning light And gave the morning power.
The sour grass so bold and yellow Did flourish everywhere As wax flowers filled the air with pink It’s beauty oh, so rare Green parrots flew above my head And the Ravens lonely calls Reached out to me, and touched my heart Oh, It was beautiful.
The lake, it glimmered in the sun Reflecting dark grey sky As twisted trees reached out to me It seemed as I passed by Then rain came falling from the sky And a sweet and mystic glow Bathed my heart in tenderness As the whole world seemed to flow. © 2018 peter DugganReviews
