Spring Promises.

Spring Promises.

A Poem by Lana Bimbi
"

A poem I wrote in a haze around 6am on the first day of spring last year, I awoke to a warmth my body had forgotten and along with the sunlight, the words seemed to come in abundance.

"
And so winter comes to an end.
The decadent spring sunlight streams its way across my windowsill.
It's rays slowly kissing every wintery corner of darkness within my room
as if to say
"do not fear, indulge in my warmth and forget the snow and sleet".
I bask in the sunlight, so foreign to my skin.
My fingers aching as they translate from the cool air of the night to the warmth of the morning.
I listen to the hymn of the birds outside.
I observe the newly found life in the world around me.
I savour every sweet second of my awakening for I know it will be yet another year
until spring arrives again.
