DopeyA Poem by Kevin KapplerEarning knowledge in mental and heart strength. Finding your inner self. Breaking out of a rut when you think you are small and weak.
Dopey
Hours of intense day dreaming Wishes for the right ways In which I can thrive and truly live Each and every day. I balance my walk upon the circumstantial Tight rope The strength in my feet is weakening I feel small and dumb like Dopey. He is the smallest of the dwarves Treated like his meaning and thoughts are irrelevant Until he booms out in a clearer voice “What makes you better than I? We all bleed…we all feel…” Walking away, with what belongings he holds dear… This once bullied dwarf walks forwards Onwards to a future Rid of those who control him with fear. A brighter sun shines Upon Dopey’s now freer and more independent soul.. He can be his own man Free from his once captive role. © 2023 Kevin Kappler |
