The Changelings

The Changelings

A Poem by Chrys

I wonder.....

Had we but known
How swiftly time sparkles by,
The candle of our affection
Might have extinguished with a sigh.

We might have cherished more,
The splendent freedoms of our youth,
We might have unbound our limits
Before we constrained upon this truth.

But we channeled our lives
As two streams embrace in fluvial collusion,
Forming a changeling of effervescent mist
At the retroaction of our fusion.

The radiant clouds fill our ears and eyes
With felicitous flowing thunder,
What prismatic years,
And yet...I still wonder.
