Brief + Prologue + Chapter IA Chapter by ChryissBe aware of switching POV's.Brief They didn't know they would find love, but will it heal, or hurt? When two sisters come to a new school from overseas, everything is not what they expect. One strives to make connections, the other, merely waiting for one. She holds a secret unbeknownst to even her precious little sister. Or, is it secrets? Prologue The last shafts of sunlight melted away into the impending darkness of night. The stars are bright tonight; the moon seemed to shift slowly through the illuminated black. A lone girl walks in the middle of the street, her dark hair richly lit by the glowing lampposts, her eyes shimmering like the dots of light above her. She wanders soundlessly down the road as if going somewhere. It’s midsummer, and cicada’s trills saturate the air. It’s a cool night. Their chirps seem far off from where the girl is; the only audible noises are the quivers of the lamplight. She suddenly stops; it’s the end of the street. There’s a river flowing by, and just beyond it, a meadow surrounded by oak and willow trees. There’s a stone arch bridge across the seven feet wide waters to the meadow. There stands a boy. Eyes as dark as the night, glinting stormy green. The roads leads to nowhere. Chapter I Elisa’s POV “Esteire! Where are you? It’s time to go!” Gosh, where could that girl be? I whip down the stairs heading to the doors, snatching a buttered waffle before I leap out the door. If she was going to be late, that was her problem. In most cases I would wait for my sister, but today was the only exception. It was the first day of school. We moved here from America to France over the summer of sophomore year. Or at least, her sophomore year. I’ve been homeschooled my whole life until now. I want to make a good impression, so being late wasn’t on the plan. Esteire’s POV I watch my sister fly out of the house as if being chased while chomping down on a waffle. She races down the sidewalk to the high school. I understand it was her first time ever attending school, but there’s no need to be in a hurry. It was just another day. Quietly sighing I stare up at the blue through the leaves of the ash tree. It’s a clear day today. How beautiful. Elisa’s POV The school is coming into view; only a little more to go. Bang! “Hey! Watch where you’re going little girl!” shouts an irritated voice. “Oh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t even see you there! I’m so sorry!” I apologize. “Ah, okay already! Just watch it will you?!” says a red-haired guy, brushing himself off. Realizing I was staring at him, he snaps, “What!?” “Ah! Nothing! I need to go!” I respond taking off. Panting, I reach the school just as the first bell rang. Great, I had ten minutes before class starts. “Hello there! I take it you’re new to Amorei; welcome,” says a little old lady behind me. Startled, I jumped, turning around. “Ah, yes! I’m Elisabeth! Nice to meet you!” I say bowing. “No need to be so formal! This is school after all! I’m the Principal of Amorei High. Before you get settled, please go see Sebastian, the Student Body President in the Student Council Room.” And away she went before I had a chance to ask where exactly the room was. Mikael’s POV That new girl looked lost; she was meandering throughout the school looking left and right, unsure where to go. Then, she spots me. Uh-oh. She sped towards me before I could get away. “Hi again! Could you please tell me where I could find the Student Council Room?!” she asks, her big blue eyes pleading. “Why would you want to go there? No reason to go where he is.” I scoff. The girl looks confused. “Can you tell me, please?” she begs. “I already said it’s not worth it! If you want, ask some one else. Do I look like a guide to you?” “Hey.” Says a voice behind me. Swiveling around, I see a girl leap down from my tree. Landing perfectly, she straightens and faces me with a penetrating stare. She has long black hair and piercing, deep blue eyes; she is utterly beautiful. And I’ve seen and known many girls in my lifetime, but she tops them all. She has a slender build, strong but fine and- “Hey! I’m talking to you!” she snaps. I realize I’ve been gawking at her this whole time. “That wasn’t very polite, you know,” she continues. “You could be kinder after you bumped into her this morning.” “What?! She crashed into me! What’re you saying?” I retort after regaining my senses. Why did this girl make me feel so uncomfortable? “If I remember, you also weren’t watching where you’re going and nearly ran into a pole while staring at the sky and then smacked into my sister.” Wait, what?!! They’re sisters?!! But they’re totally different! She has sharp, elegant features and a graceful body while the other one is short and dainty with brown hair. Not at all similar. “But, I approve,” she finishes. Huh? “Of looking at the sky,” she clarifies. Huh? “It is a beautiful day,” she breathes, getting momentarily sidetracked. Yeah, she’s gorgeous, I think, watching her gaze into the skies. Snapping back, she says, “Apologize.” “And if I won’t?” I push, not liking orders. With the swiftness of a cheetah she leaned forward, glaring into my eyes, an inch from my face. I could feel myself heating up. “Do you want to know?” she asks. Her breath coming as a soft breeze. “Perhaps.” I say, succumbing to her allure. Pulling away, she smiles wickedly at me. “Do you?” she says under her breath. Turning, she drags her sister away. “Red here is just a cross little boy. Let’s go, Elisa. I know where it is.” “You do, Esteire? Heyhey! Where were you?” They were soon gone from my sight.
