Running from Shadows

Beady red eyes follow her at night

in the dark corners of her mind, shadows take flight.

Shadows crawl across her floor

And she can't take this pain anymore.

Her mine screams the happenings of her past

She can't slow them down, they are moving too fast.

She thinks where was God then, where is He now, 

as the curtain closes, and she takes her final bow.

Mind racing, heart slowing to a stop.

Devastated, defeated, this is the end to it all.

Body fading, her eyes closing to the dark,

they have one against her, that was the final straw.
