I'm Fermenting Again

I'm Fermenting Again

A Poem by Christopher_Myles

I'm fermenting again.
With weeks of sedimentary activity,
I begin to fester.
A wound that does not breathe...
But would prefer not to,
Because it likes its own murky company.
It revels in its own sickness.
To find it is not a wound but now a pond teeming with life.
Attached to a dying carcass.
But what replaces what once lived and thrived, is just as- if not more- beautiful.
And when the microbes and maggots have their fill
these bones will bask dry in the sun- and be flushed cool by the breeze.
And all will be one again.
