Chances Taken

Chances Taken

A Poem by LoveBetweenLines

It's a scary thing,

Seeing someone,

Meeting someone,

Wanting someone.

It's scarier when that someone is you.

It's a funny world,

Where I can't go back,

Where I won't relax,

Where I don't believe it,

It's a world full of chances taken.

It's the right time,

To make it work,

To take that leap,

To ask the question,

It's the time to act on my instincts.

I've answered your questions,

Capital of Switzerland?

Twelve times twelve?

Do you like pasta?

I've got to chance this question of mine.

I've almost run out of this,

This perfect moment,

This perfect timing,

This perfect stranger,

I've run out of my time to show you.

I've had all these chances,

To ask your name,

To find you again,

To make it right,

But those chances were taken away.

It's a scary thing that in this funny world,

When it's the right time and I'm the answer to your questions,

I run out of them, all these chances.

All those chances, taken away.

Author's Note

LoveBetweenLines
Never really written poetry before, and while I do appreciate the quality of work that most people give, I don't know if it's for me. I feel like I can't express enough, or I can't find the right words. Suggestions?
