Combined Embodiments

Combined Embodiments

A Poem by Christina Elena.

I could feel my arms sinking into the floor

While I lay there, while I lay there

Is it serious? Can you swallow me?

Will I rest in your stomach?

You leave me un-natural, you see

Un-natural, though addicting.

I just layed there

I felt you in my stomach somewhere,

I believe, I do believe.

You stood over my body

Your heated eyes

Analyzed

Me

You stood over my body

Then you knelt down beside me.

Our bodies were puddles on the floor

Like stranded fish upon the shore

Letting the life escape our pores.

I believe, I do believe

That I felt something when I probed your skin

That I felt you when our cold eyes met

Something burried deep inside of my stomach

A sensation I could never forget.

"Our bodies were puddles on the floor/like stranded fish upon the shore/letting the life escape our pores".

My favorite line from this. Very imaginative. Nice, heady stuff. With the repetition in bits like "I believe, I do believe", I say, I do say, that these would make excellent lyrics. One could almost hear it.

Good job.
