Two Prints in the Snow

I turn to look at the two prints I, just, made;

Were they the first, at this spot, to be laid;

Am I seeing a perspective that none have known;

Knowing solitude, but never feeling alone.

Could this be virgin ground where I had stood,

Wondering about what is wrong with the world;

Then, I understand the meaning of each print,

'Cause they are steps toward where I am meant.

I have learned much from people, along the way,

And respect every word that they are trying to say;

I'm sure, my friend, I am the first from these parts

To have stood on that ground with you in my heart.

 Merry Christmas, Bill,

 and joy and comfort,

 always,

 Christina

We meet so many people in our lives but just now and again someone touches the heart in such a wonderful way their fingerprints stays forever. You and Bill have done that, and what you have, what he has, however way out, small or whatever. you share precious gifts .. empathy, sincere affection and the same direction.

This is a beautiful tribute not only for Laughing-Bear...but for the reader too! The picture swirled my mind with many colours...and your words were like a rainbow. Despite the cold winter...I felt all warm and cozy reading this. And those puppies! Awwwe!!!

You use a poignant image as the theme and work it through to produce a fine poem.I like the use of couplets and the professional scanning. Well done.

My Dear Writing Friend Ayarinarqe Ak'allar Nalik Uilingiataq,
As I sit before my fire I smile thinking of my treasures, each given as a gift. Treasures so valuable that if my cabin was consumed by a forest fire these would be the first things grabbed after my best friends, my dogs. Let me tell you of some of them.
There is a little container of bubbles with wand to make those bubbles my daughter gave me. A steel ball-bearing my son gave me when he was three, every dad should have one. There is the walking stick beautifully carved by Ron, an eighty-something Bush Rat and close friend. The medicine bag an elder made for me, and a note from a sister who said she loved me, thanking me for working on her car. There is a memory of a song written for flute and played for me as a gift. And a cracked plastic coffee cup from the Red, Green, TV show with cracks covered over with duct tape. And many more treasures like the ones just mentioned.
The monetary value of these gifts almost nothing, but all treasures so valuable no amount of money could purchase them. They were all gifts of love, all given from the heart, all out of friendship. And your beautiful work,” Two Prints in the Snow”, I now add to these priceless gifts. I am honored, humbled, overwhelmed with gratitude for this most beautiful Christmas gift of unparalleled value! I will treasure this gift in my heart with the others, and when the day comes that I go sit on the icepack as I ready my self to walk through eternities door with straight eyes I will smile. I will give thanks for the blessings of treasures like your poem given to me, all more valuable than King Solomon treasure.

Thank You, Ggagga Nk'dlih

Very nice. Those who we encounter have a positive or negative effect on our lives. It's nice to give thanks for those we help us in life.
