Do I Go Back In?!

Do I Go Back In?!

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

Cheating and being caught!

"

Do I Go Back In?!

She called, sounding breathless,

My best friend's lovely wife;

Her beauties were so endless,

They cut into me like a knife.

Asking, "Won't you come to me;

I'm here all lonely and alone;

We were always meant to be;"

I, nearly, dropped my phone.

The entire long drive there,

I felt it to be so, very wrong;

Once we were hugging near,

Felt this was where I belong.

Clothes were piled in a heap,

Frolicking in my friend's bed;

Moments, exciting to cheap;

I felt like such a cheating cad.

"It's my husband," she screamed

And I jumped through a window;

Twas things all that I'd dreamed

Or was I hiding in a shadow.

Laughing, "It was just a mailman;"

Standing half naked in barefeet;

Do I go back in, again;

Or am I just a dirty cheat?!

A very sad situation as old as time and the hurt that it brings to familys when it hits divorce court. Very pathetic that a person would choose to satisfy their lust
with a best friends spouse. Cheating with one person will end as soon as it is no longer exciting and the idiot will move on to their next challenge.

Cheating hurts everyone, even the cheaters. Having to keep a secret like that from those you love, it brings a sickness to the soul, so to speak. There is always that doubt and the feeling of wrongness. A great poem here!

Neither a cheater nor liar be/ but cling to truth and fidelity/
Who claims variety is a spice/ will never season the same dish twice
Liars uncertain become tremblers/ but truth is easy to remember
(laughing)

Chuckling here... a lot of 'old' movies came to mind... even a "Laurel and Hardy" outtake...

Wow that was an awsome write mom. It truly brought out what a cheater truly goes through in his mind. I could honestly feel the power of the words you have placed in this writing and I a very impress.
