Judy, Judy

Judy, Judy

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg

The pompom queen, Judy Ponceby!

Judy, Judy

Have you ever seen a more precious face;

There's no face that could take her place;

After all the pain she has had to have seen,

To be such a funny girl, full of beans!

Judy has nerves of molded steel

And a love to give peace and heal;

She is all that we see as a nightingale;

She has seen the other side of Hell.

She has a smile broad enough to

Cover her heart and see her through;

She gives her all to the needy of us

And she is the angel of our trust.

Judy, Judy, don't ever forget me,

If, someday, I need you beside me,

Because you are the wind of breath

And the flower, at the time of death.

Judy, sweet Judy, you are so alive;

You give my dying life some drive;

From you I know the next place,

My God with a smile upon His face.

Being Cheeky

A Poem by Judy Ponceby

Skipping through the forest,
Laughing with delight,
Glimpsing my sweetheart,
Off to the right.

Sneaking up closely,
Taking a peek.
Watching him moving,
I do not speak.

Silently climbing,
Up and out on a limb.
Taking some acorns,
And grinning down on him.

Watching him move,
unaware of my perch.
Thinking how funny,
He's going to lurch.

Taking careful aim,
Then glancing about,
I whack him on the head,
And he gives a shout.

Laughing, and swinging,
Out on a limb.
Hanging upside down,
And grinning at him.

First he was scowling,
Looking quite mad.
Now he is smiling,
And, boy, am I glad.

Still hanging there,
My knees over the limb,
He approaches me slowly,
And I get a kiss from him.

His hands on my face,
His heart in his eyes.
Kissing so sweetly,
With fun undisguised.

Slipping from my perch,
I settle in his arms.
Feeling so safe,
Loving his charms.

Not a thing could be better,
than being this close.
with his heart to my heart
his nose to my nose

O, grrrrr...

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

Random silliness...

"
O, grrrrrrrrrr.............

        Stepped on a thorn!

O, grrrrrrrrrr...........

         Size of a horn.

O, grrrrrrrrrr.........

Flesh all torn.

O, grrrrrrrrrr.............
So forlorn.

Such a delightful tribute! Judy sounds like a wonderful person to know. I love how you incorporated some of her work as well as your own. She seems like quite the inspiration.
