The older I age the more I crave to regain the pure, innocent honestly of a baby or small child. My desire is to think of and see all that is outside and inside of my self in an unbiased, knowing way. What is is what simply it is, not what I make of it or what I try to become of it. When I speak, to only speak words that I would say in the presence of whom or what I am sharing my thoughts. My very mind, over time, will begin, only, to have my own ideas based solely on reality and facts. How often, I have been swayed, this way or that, by listening to the word of others or by seeing something through another's eyes that is not actuality. Once I perceive my world and present myself to the world with absolute knowledge will I gain the respect and trust that will, then, have been earned and shown to others. Prejudice is a behavior easily learned from others and it is hard to break the habit, once learned, but I will strive for a new way of thinking, being, and relating to all of the universe. I know the closer I become to my "inner child" and that serene perception of all that is, the more I understand and love my self. There are no positives or negatives about all that is, only the neutral that all that is is. I can only change that present and the future of my self; the past just is as it "was." "Was" will, eternally, remain unchanged and really no longer exists, now is, and the future will be a place that contains all of the chance for hopes, dreams that come true, and changes for the betterment of my self. Plan for it; the future is but a split second away.
Unfortunately, thinking purely for one's self is something rarely done anymore. I think so many have such a desire to be accepted that we forget about values, principles, morals, even common sense and logic. It is sad. It's also sad that so many have had their "days of innocence" so shortened by the world we live in. Hopefully, we'll start to take note and soon. And I agree that perception is more than half the battle. Very interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
It's hard to travel through life without taking lessons learned along with us .. or at least for me, it is. But in the process perhaps past experiences teach us that HOW we feel is more important than WHAT we feel.
Your words explore what you were and how you are now, the cloak's quite beautiful and you wear it so well.
I like the phrase:
"Was" will, eternally, remain unchanged
That's a good message. Nice passage for the expression of casting off the garbage of earlier life. We should all try to do that but I think we never really do. We muddle on hampered by our limitations and those of the people around us. The best we can do is try to learn. There is no perfect inner self and no perfect way to face the future. Just love yourself.
wow, this was so deep and on target with what is...a profound piece that delves into becoming who you were meant to be by listening to your own-selve and letting the child within appear...Very good writing and wonderful thoughts...

This reminds me of something I wrote a while back. I believe the past is just a memory and we need to move on in our life. Dance to your own drum to the beat of your own heart until it touches your soul. When we plan for the future we can only hope our dreams will come true and that they belong to us instead of someone else. Good write and thoughts, Christina.
