What Money BuysA Poem by Christina May ShanabergWritten for Devon's "MONEY" Contest!WHAT MONEY BUYS
I love my rich boyfriend; He buys me such nice things; He really knows how to spend; Gourmet meals and diamond rings; He comes to call with roses, too, And takes me to the best shows; I never want for fresh and new; What I want he always knows.
I miss my wonderful boyfriend; He has moved on to other things; I have lost my lover and best friend To someone he gives sweet nothings; He called to say that he'd moved on To a lady who appreciates the best; He had found someone to count upon, Because what money buys can't last.
