THE WRITER INSIDE ME

The silent field of endless white

Can become a terror, in the night;

Alone, in the company of indecision,

I await a thought-filled vision;

An uncapped pen sits poised on the page,

Awaiting an inspired writer's rage;

The absence of sound is a distraction;

Each heartbeat is a thunderous explosion;

My labored breathes are major eruptions

And every thought lasts to no conclusion;

Suddenly, the mind surrenders control

To the storyteller, in the soul,

And words appear, from deep inside,

Where dreams and feelings hide.

A excellent poem. Words from a writer comes from the heart and experience in living. All great writers learn from pain and blood to become excellent writers. Hemingway would have lived longer and never wrote the great books of a Nation in many wars if he stayed at home instead of following war.
"To the storyteller, in the soul,
And words appear, from deep inside,
Where dreams and feelings hide."
A excellent poem. Good to be able to read your words again.

i love this piece because it is so true! the only way to get past writers block is to continue to write through it...write anything so that you can once again be inspired by eveything.....great piece!

Fighting through it...thats the hard part for sure. For me sometimes it takes a certain mood to get the pen rolling again. Something we can all identify with. Nice job.

I can completely see where you're coming from on this poem. You wrote this with a very eloquent and articulate form, very nice; I was impressed.

"The silent field of endless white," that's EXACTLY what writer's block is. Just endless white. Completely blank. Curse you, writer's block.
