A SCHEDULING ERROR

As a Field Tax Auditor for the State of Ohio, I, constantly, received requests to reschedule audits.  On Wednesday, July 22, I received a call from an accountant's secretary, indicating their client's appointment, at his company, for Friday, July 24, should be changed to the same time tomorrow, at my office.

A short while later, I received a call from the accountant, confirming that he wanted an appointment, in my office, for the same time Friday, not tomorrow, as his secretary indicated.

Unfortunately, the client was calling for the accountant, while the accountant was talking to me. The secretary told the client an appointment had been scheduled, in my office, at the same time, tomorrow.

When the accountant attempted to return the client's call, he found the line was busy.  The client was changing his appointment, for the same time tomorrow, to the same time Friday, with one of his customers.

Alas, the accountant telephoned to reschedule the rescheduled appointment, from the same time Friday to the same time tomorrow, at my office, and he said, "You see, the main problem is my secretary thinks tomorrow is Friday!"

Wow, I can only imagine the headaches associated with that job... lol. Good, comic twist at the end of this one, I liked it.

In your first sentence, "As a Field Tax Auditor for the State of Ohio, I, constantly, received requests to reschedule audits." I don't think the commas after "I" and "constantly" are necessary.

Very funny story. I like the way you made this situation comical, knowing that it must have been frustrating at the time.

You are blessed to be able to keep your sense of humor and see the funny side of utter chaos. I sure wouldn't want your job. Thanks for sharing this funny incidence with us. Well written....except I don't think you need a comma after "I" in the first sentence.

I really enjoyed reading this tale of confusion...it reminds me of "Who's on First?"

Well told! The confusion associated with that dilemma, I empathize with any who have to go through that on a daily basis.

I thought this was executed very nicely, it was befuddling, I did have to read the third paragraph again, but it not quite to the point where I lost the story. I loved how you tied it up with the secretary's humorous confusion. Thank you for sharing!

Comedy of Errors! I had a hard time following the chain of events in this one. Very funny. Who's on First?

So let me get this straight. The meeting is the day after tomorrow (today being Wednesday) right?

What does this say about the accountant's secretary? Her mind is on Friday because she has a date or maybe she just needs a vacation! LOL

Clever.
