A Penny's Worth of SplashA Poem by Christina May ShanabergA PENNY'S WORTH OF SPLASH
My Love and I happened upon a well And wished for the world, at our feet; As the shiny, new penny, silently, fell And splashed to echo and repeat; repeat; Well, no water-filled pit can change tomorrow Or give, magically, what we wish and want, But it can bring emptiness and sorrow; We are not what we are not, but what we've got; So, don't throw that precious money away, Believing you can buy your schemes; Make that penny work for you, today, Reaping the rewards from your dreams. © 2011 Christina May ShanabergReviews
