Across the SkyA Poem by Christina May ShanabergMore lyrics written for the music of the late Dennis Martin Fletterich!ACROSS THE SKY
Sunlight sparkles on the water, Like moonlight in your eyes; I can only remember, After we have said, "Good-bye!"
Free bird flies away from me And I watch, as it disappears, Thinking were I will be, Lost to you by passing years, Looking out across the sky.
Long path leads me to nowhere, But I must go to the end; Finding memories On a road-sign fading there; Walking up this hill alone.
Moonlight passes behind the clouds, As you did, back when you left me; I'm a d-y-i-n-g heartbeat, In a life where you are free.
Free bird flies away from me And I watch, as it disappears; Thinking where I will be, Lost to you by passing years, Looking out across the sky.
Free bird flies away from me And I watch, as it disappears; Think where I will be, Lost to you by passing year, Looking out across the sky. . . © 2010 Christina May ShanabergAuthor's Note
