Signed, T. Fairy

Signed, T. Fairy

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

Written for my oldest daughter, Charisma Suzanne (Shanaberg) Sullivan, on October 18, 1987; the day she lost her first tooth!

"

SIGNED, T. FAIRY

My Dear Chari,

I am the tooth fairy;

You've lost your first tooth;

The first sign of passing youth;

I know how much it means to you

And I'll bet you wonder how I knew;

Well, I've been watching you grow

And, as you slept, I peeked under your pillow;

It seems like only yesterday,

You were a toothless little baby;

Now, you are a sweet young lady

And, at last, you needed me

To leave you a reminder of your joy

That you may use to buy a special toy;

Don't be sad that you did not see me,

Because fairies can only live if they are free;

Be happy knowing I give you my love,

My precious little dove.

Signed,

T. Fairy

Cute :) I do agree that It did go kind of fast paced, but I don't know if I would break it into stanzas. I like the structure as it is. But its not really a problem anyway, more of an observation. I liked it. It had a "guardian angel" type feel to it. And I like that it was signed "T.Fairy" instead of "The Tooth Fairy". Makes it seem more real :)

Reminds me of the time a little girl told me, "will you quit watching me when I am sleeping?" this was at a Christmas party and I was wearing my red suit.

Very sweet. It has a good sense of wonder and tenderness written expressly for a growing child. Introducing your children to the wonder of faeries is an important thing I think, it gives them inspiration to dream and imagine a world beyond ours and opens them to the possibility that anything might exist.

This is so sweet! There is a loving gentleness that simply glows, like she must have upon reading it. Just wonderfully written and absolutely magical!
