Why try?

Why try?

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

This is kind of a different format for me, but I gave it a try!

"

WHY TRY?

Inside,

I am empty;

Outside,

I am closed;

The past

Is behind me;

The future,

Who knows;

At my feet,

Trampled eons decay;

Overhead,

Infinite unknown;

My mind,

Full of pain, unforgetable;

A heart

Afraid, void of emotion;

The end

Of unreachable goals;

I begin

To give in;

I rest

Upon a quiet moment;

Death works,

All of the time;

My name,

Uttered, occasionally;

Unfamiliar face

On worn photographs;

There is no more;

Why try?

Because the sun is shining and it's going to be a beautiful day!

I have felt all of these emotions you relate to in this poem,
on many occasions. Life is hard sometimes. Thank the higher powers

Poem tell a powerful story. We can feel push into a corner with no way out. I like the set-up and flow of your words. We go go forward. Must be a better road a head. A excellent poem.

As I get older the feeling is mutual. The dawn brings a fresh start and there is love to remind us that we are important to someone. I enjoy your writing.
