That Special Love

That Special Love

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

For my ex-husband, Jim, before I found out what (oh, I really meant to say, "who") he really was!

"

THAT SPECIAL LOVE

Now, I have that special love,

That I never dared to dream of;

I have found you a place within

A broken heart, that beats, again;

You held my face within your palm

And restored feelings that were gone,

So I could become a part of you

And live as one, instead of two.

Before, I was completely alone,

Sitting by a silent telephone,

But you whispered my name into the air,

So all the world could hear;

I was guided to you that night

By a pure, heavenly light

And I know wishes can come true,

When you believe, maybe, they do.

Soon, the "tree of life" will flower

And its fruit will never sour,

Because our child is the seed

Of our flesh tightly weaved

To sprout in the waiting earth,

Bringing our union eternal births;

There is an end to mortal hours,

But a true love is forever, like ours.

As missed placed as they were, these emotions were very wonderful and special, at the time.
