The Face of a ClockA Poem by Christina May ShanabergThis was just such a fun poem to write!THE FACE OF A CLOCK
I awake staring at the face of a clock And listen to it singing, "Tick-tock, tick-tock;" Good things come to those who wait, But when the time comes, don't be late; Mother Earth sleeps by Father Time And, at sunrise, she'll ring his chime; To yesterdays, its hands will forever wave, Because moments in time, you will never save; It patiently guides us to where tomorrow lurks, As today passes through its works; The "ticking" is a constant thing "Tocking" of the adventures time will bring; I awake staring at the face of a clock And listen to it singing, "Tick-tock, tick-tock;" May I, also, reinerate, "DON'T BE LATE!" © 2010 Christina May ShanabergAuthor's Note
