In Dreams I Remember

I used to write all the dreams down that I remembered; maybe, I should get in the habit, again.

IN DREAMS I REMEMBER

 

Floating high, in the sky;

Feeling like I can fly;

Loving you, through the night;

Dancing on beams of starlight;

Clouds cushion any fall;

I can have it all;

Springtime, during winter,

In dreams I remember.

 

Frequent a forbidden cove;

Find a long lost love;

Do the death defying;

Reaching goals, without trying;

Being someone, I am not;

Having anything I want;

I am always the winner,

In dreams I remember.

 

When I am asleep,

I have your heart to keep;

Visions of the love we make

Stay, when I awake;

I can live in a wonderland

And find that special man;

Your enchanting laughter,

In dreams I remember.

 

If you remember a dream,

Hold it very tight;

What more is a dream

Than a life at night.

This kind of concept of seeing a lost love only dreams should have been bittersweet, but from the way you wrote this poem, it appears to be a magical situation more so than a sad one. The tone is very happy and relaxed as if by intention, you want the readers to travel along with you in your dreams. Nice portrayal.
