A Sin for a Sin for a SinA Poem by Christina May ShanabergFor my lying, cheating ex-husband, Jim. However, his "cup of tea" was an older woman.A SIN FOR A SIN FOR A SIN
Whe was a flawed jewel, Standing before the judge's stool; Her ruby lips tightened, She gold-stained ringlets glistened, Sea-green tears stained emerald eyes, And studded jeans draped her thighs; A woman, who had erased The girl that took her place And, in a revengeful fit, Tangled the house up a bit; The man she loved testified And not a tear could be dried; An unmerciful jury had to debate This crazy lady's upcoming fate, But soon, the verdict was, finally, in For this, the fifth sin; All were gavelled to silence To hear the deadly sentence, But the moment for her Lasted, in her heart, forever; She had not meant to kill; Her hand was forced against her will; He was not worth a life, Nor did he deserve the loving wife, Whom sat alone in the heated chair, With no one to care. © 2010 Christina May ShanabergAuthor's Note
