Glitter of Success

Glitter of Success

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

I don't believe that you can ever achieve "success;" I guess you just have to believe that everything you achieve makes you a "success."

"

GLITTER OF SUCCESS

How radiant is a single twinkle of the glitter of success;

Its blinding beam becomes a beckoning jewel we must possess;

It stands out of the total black horizan of a future distantly afloat,

Like a diamond generating beautiful colors at its throat;

We travel through life, but the vision stays just as far away,

Even when we reach the summit where our goal was yesterday;

How foolish is someone residing on a step half the way,

Content with the shimmering decoys he can touch today;

All whom lived past a moment started up the stair

And those who stopped are suspended somewhere in nowhere;

Can it be the true meaning of success, therefore,

Is always believing there will be something more?

Success can increase the hunger for more glitter. It is hard not to want more. Rare people are happy with their life. I like the poem. It has a feel of the real world.
