To Touch My Heart

To Touch My Heart

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

Written for James Redman Durkee, whom most people never even knew that I met; however, I am glad that I did, because he helped me think my way through some rough times.

"

TO TOUCH MY HEART

To cry overcome by happiness

To forget the pain of loneliness

To feel closer, when apart

To touch my heart

To have a pillar to lean on

To never stand alone

To see our world, as it glows

To watch, as beauty grows

To understand what love means

To be drenched in sunshine, when it rains

To ride on dancing moonbeams

To believe in silent daydreams

To find answers, in your eyes

To know trust never lies

To float above distantly flying birds

To never hear empty words

To find my way upon this land

To always hold your helping hand

To let yesterday, finally, end

To start tomorrow with a friend

To share forever our special devotion

To be cuddled in pure emotion

To feel closer, when apart

To touch my heart.

Clearly defines what a good relationship is, though not necessarily in a romantic sense. It's a poem with a lot of purity and sincerity. Your repetition sound nice without appearing too redundant.

Keep Writing. ^___^
