People don't understand

I desperately need someone

Everyone does

But I never have the energy

to go the distance

There is always that screaming fear

That they'll hurt you, and think

"We don't want you here"

Because they're people

and people always do

I desperately need someone

but fear has it's claws at my throat

So trapped,

I can't breathe

I'm not aloof

I'm just terrified

If I get too close,

I'll break you

and you will break me

Because that is the nature of living

These broken dreams

I have a habit of being quite vague with my writing. I thought id try something painfully clear instead

definitely feel the frustration...past love can make us put up the walls...and then we step back...and stay back...can't commit because we know what's coming around the bend.
Broken Dreams because one or the other or both turn and run.
and i like the speaker's logic...not really admitting the fear...but oh, can't go the distance...too tiring...
just another way to say...Fear.
