A Poem by Christiane Hart
"

a work in progress...

"

Oh the mixed metaphors! How can a broken heart be full?
Even while it aches, a loss so raw, so complete
My heart is full of love, of compassion, of gratitude

The cracks will always be there; like the grain of fine marble
The cracks are visible, but strong
Heartbreak has burnished my soul to gleaming

Nobody will ever have quite the same hold
Yet my heart has emerged from the ashes, reborn
I can give it again love would insist, nothing less
