Sing Your Song, Fight Your Fight

Sing Your Song, Fight Your Fight

A Poem by Christian N. C.
"

To me, we all have a song to sing something only we can do, it should be shared with the world. We all have obstacles we can overcome we may need support but we can always receive it from somewhere.

"
All around me, I hear birds chirping.
I wish to understand what they're singing about.
Maybe its no different than people
A passing "Hello!" Or a "Good Morning"
Maybe its just mindless small talk.

The embodiment of happiness and purpose
For no bird awakens and denies Mother Nature a song.
The same way no stream stops moving because of an obstacle
It simply finds a new path.
And if it were to find a place it couldn't progress.
The stream would eventually become a pond and open a new route!
The stream doesn't question where it's going
It just goes wherever it can.

So why if the birds can sing, even on a rainy day
And the stream can overcome any obstacle.
Why then do people not do the same?
A person would shy from singing if another discouraged them
But a bird would continue to sing its song.
For that is the bird's own song,
That only that bird can sing!

A person stops at obstacles, but can continue on their journey
Just as the stream would.
Then why do some people simply stop at certain obstacles?
If you cannot overcome it, then wait and from a stream become a pond that can find a new path.
Or a pond that can sustain new life within itself.

If only people could be more like the birds and the stream.
The birds who sing their own song
And the stream that always fights its own fights.

I really enjoyed this poem Christian, as you asked such an important question. Why do we stop? When faced with something tough why do we back down instead of meeting the challenge head on? I really like how you tied this to the activity of birds and water (two of my most favorite symbols/joys in life). it made it especially meaningful for me and thought-provoking. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great writing!
