Monsters

Monsters

A Poem by C. D. Shelton
"

Don't say I didn't warn you.

"

If you should look around,

Monsters will be found

In the closet and under the bed.

Do not look, or you shall become dead.

Oh! You looked,

And now you are hooked

To the monster’s claw.

Now on you he will begin to gnaw.

In the monster’s belly

You sill soon be turned to jelly

Unless you can escape

This monstrous, hideous place.

You look for a sharp bone,

But when you search, you find none.

Now what will others think had become

Of you, from the place where you’d come from…
