Jeopardy Days

Jeopardy Days

A Poem by Christian Adriaensen

When you are by my side
everything just seems right.
It gives me no reason to hide
for the dark obscuring night.

When you are so close to me
I finally feel complete.
Being who I want to be
without any other need.

But what to do with
the unwritten rule
of friendship's benefit?
What if I reveal the truth,
lose my cool
and fall out of your credit?

Will there be a way back
to present's past?
Or will you push me off the track
and treat me as an outcast?

These jeopardy days
made me a stranger to myself
maybe I need you to be my mirror
to make me crawl back into my delf.
